Birdcam is a small family run business located in a small village called North Kessock, which is situated on the South coast of the Black Isle, just North of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. The owner, Neil Tuckwell, first started Birdcam when he thought of the idea of putting cameras inside nest boxes to see the birds nesting. Neil has been installing CCTV for many years and thought it would be interesting to see exactly what the birds get up to inside the nest box.

Owner - Neil Tuckwell Neil Tuckwell has been working supply and installing CCTV, Sound Systems, Public Address, Background Music, Home Entertainment Systems and Induction Loop Systems to name a few all over Scotland for over 25 years. He trained originally as a radio tech in the RAF, then started up his own business in the seventies and brought television pictures to many rural villages throughout the Highlands. Throughout his career he has gained more and more experience with new technology. Neil has also set up cameras to film other birds including Ospreys, Red Kites, Sea Eagles and Herons to name but a few. Putting a camera over an Ospreys nest for example is interesting to watch and can also protect the eggs from thiefs. As time goes on, Neil is developing new ideas to film other types of animals. A camera can be fitted into any type of box.
